Apparel Companies Elevate Branding Capabilities With Innovative High Definition Heat Transfer Technology

Consumers have come to expect high definition clarity for their television and computer screens. Soon the same may hold true for apparel graphic embellishments. The innovation team at Avery Dennison RBIS has developed Agility HD heat transfer technology that is opening up new frontiers for retail brand owners and their creative teams. Some of the world’s top performance brands have already embraced Agility HD technology as a way to add image clarity, texture, depth and special effects that were never possible before.

The market for exterior garment graphic embellishments is more than $6 billion with screen printing as the primary application method. Avery’s proprietary transfer technology addresses limitations in screen print image quality while providing a cost-effective manufacturing solution. Avery Dennison RBIS is uniquely positioned to provide this complete solution for global brand owners through its network of service bureaus located in all major garment manufacturing regions.

high definition heat tranfer labels"Agility HD is an innovative technology solution that offers retail brand owners multiple ways to win since it’s an economical way to deliver eye-catching designs,” explains Mark Hill, Avery Dennison RBIS VP & GM, Global Innovation and Solutions Development."

Agility HD uses advanced digital production control processes to ensure consistent quality across multiple service bureaus around the world, so quality is uniform every step of the way to ensure brand consistency -- from sampling through multi-site global production. At apparel manufacturing factories, Agility HD reduces turnaround time compared to screen printing and lowers scrap rates. The result is accelerated production and enhanced factory branding capabilities. In addition, the detail achieved through high definition transfers, as well as the option for embedding variable data, can be leveraged to address counterfeiting.

"This is an innovation that embodies our mission to provide solutions that elevate brands and accelerate their performance,” said Deon Stander, Avery Dennison RBIS Vice President and General Manager-Global Commercial, “Every time we show Agility HD to a customer, they have to touch it to believe it."
